Reporting Line: Senior Accountant – Reporting.
Station: Head Office.
Town: Ndola.
Type of Employment: Permanent & Pensionable.
Purpose of Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, fixed asset management, inventory control, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting effective financial management through accurate record-keeping and internal controls.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Manage and maintain the Corporation's Fixed Asset Register, including asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Oversee inventory and stores records, stock reconciliations, and periodic stock counts.
- Facilitate internal and external audits through timely preparation of financial information and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and statutory obligations.
- Support budget preparation, financial analysis, and management reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls and contribute to the automation and improvement of finance, asset, and inventory management systems.
Personal Attributes/ Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Sound understanding of fixed asset and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and reconciliation skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Partial Accounting qualification such as CA Zambia, ACCA, ZICA, CIMA, or equivalent is a must.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience.
- Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
