The Financial Manager (FM) is responsible for the strategic management of the company’s financial operations, ensuring sound fiscal practices and compliance with statutory requirements. This role oversees budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, risk management, and financial reporting, while enforcing strong internal controls and corporate governance standards. The FM plays a critical role in resource mobilization and safeguarding the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Management: Lead the planning and execution of budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting to support business growth.
- Credit Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to the company’s credit policy and maintain strong credit risk controls.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements and management reports in line with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Resource Mobilization: Identify and secure funding opportunities to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Risk Management: Assess financial risks and recommend effective mitigation measures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with the Insurance Act No. 38 of 2021 and other statutory obligations.
- Internal Controls: Enforce robust internal financial control systems and uphold good corporate governance standards.
Qualifications
- Full ACCA, ZICA, Bachelor of Accountancy, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Must be a registered Member of ZICA.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in financial management, with proven expertise in the insurance sector (preferred).
