1.BACK GROUND
Tongabezi Trust School (TTS) is a community-rooted institution committed to delivering high quality inclusive education, promoting child safeguarding, and advancing skills development and tertiary learning opportunities through its mission, to serve rural and vulnerable children and adults of Simonga community by providing inclusive, holistic and high-quality education, skills development and employment opportunities.
Tongabezi Trust School (Tujatane) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individual consultants, training organizations, or firms to conduct a comprehensive child safeguarding training program for all school staff. This training arises from a formal Staff Training Needs Assessment conducted between 22 June and 1 July 2026, and forms part of the school’s ongoing commitment to strengthening child protection systems across its staff.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
2.1 Topic
Safeguarding in Action: Recognise, Respond, Report, and Protect – a practical child safeguarding training for school staff.
2.2 Theme
Equipping every member of staff to recognise the signs of harm, respond appropriately in the moment, report concerns through the correct channels, and protect the wellbeing of every learner at Tongabezi Trust School.
2.3 Training Components
• Main training session(s) for all school staff (teaching and non-teaching).
• Training of Trainers (ToT): a focused session for a small group of selected staff, to build internal capacity to sustain safeguarding practice beyond the initial training.
• A post-training report, including attendance registers, participant evaluation summary, and key recommendations.
3. OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
1. To strengthen staff knowledge and confidence in recognising signs and indicators of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
2. To equip staff with practical skills to respond appropriately and sensitively to disclosures or safeguarding concerns.
3. To ensure all staff understand and can correctly apply the school’s reporting procedures and referral pathways.
4. To build a small internal pool of Trainers of Trainers who will be able to sustain safeguarding awareness within the school.
5. To reinforce a whole-school culture of child protection consistent with national and international safeguarding standards.
4. TARGET PARTICIPANTS
All teaching and non-teaching staff of Tongabezi Trust School (Tujatane) and Twabane Creative Centre (Overall total number of staff-55).
5. ELIGIBILITY AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
Applicants (individual consultants, organizations, or firms) must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Registered entity or qualified individual consultant, with a valid certificate of incorporation / practicing credentials where applicable, Tax Registration and latest Taxi Clearance certificate (2026).
• A minimum of 5 years' demonstrable experience designing and delivering child safeguarding, child protection, or related training, preferably within a school or educational setting.
• Relevant professional qualifications and/or certifications in child safeguarding, social work, psychosocial support, child protection, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of Zambia's child protection legal and policy framework, including relevant reporting and referral structures.
• At least three contactable references from previous clients for similar assignments.
• Ability to deliver training in English, and should know at least Nyanja, Lozi and Tonga with practical, participatory training methodology suited for adult learners.
6. KEY DELIVERABLES
• Training materials (facilitator guide, participant handouts, presentation slides, pre/post-training assessment tools).
• Delivery of the main training session(s) for all staff.
• Delivery of the Training of Trainers (ToT) session for selected staff.
• A post-training report, including attendance registers, participant evaluation summary, and key recommendations.
7. DURATION, LOCATION AND TIMELINE
-The assignment is expected to be completed within 3 days, with exact training dates to be agreed jointly with the school.

-Simoonga Village, Livingstone, Zambia. (30 minutes from Livingstone town).
8. PAYMENT PROCESS
The payment terms will be based on agreed installments E.g. First, second and last payment (Last payment to be made after submission of last report. Payments will be made upon satisfactory completion and approval of each deliverable.
9.SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

a. A cover/expression of interest letter, addressed to the People & Culture Manager, Tongabezi Trust School P.O. Box 60113, Livingstone, Zambia.
b. A technical proposal: Outlining understanding of the assignment, proposed training methodology, and session outline for the main training and ToTs training.
c. A financial proposal: In Zambian Kwacha (ZMW), inclusive of all costs (facilitation fees, materials, transport, and any applicable taxes).
d. Curriculum Vitae(s): Of the lead facilitator(s) and any supporting trainers, including relevant qualifications and certifications.
e. Copies of relevant certificates: Certificate of incorporation, latest Taxi Clearance certificate documents.
f. At least three reference letters or contact details of previous clients for similar assignments.
10. EVALUATION CRITERIA
Applications will be evaluated on a combined technical and financial basis. Indicative weighting is provided below and may be adjusted at the school’s discretion:
