The Accountant is responsible for managing the Company's financial records and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory accounting, budgeting, and statutory compliance, while supporting management with timely financial information for effective decision-making.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) credits or better.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5–10 years' relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and financial management.
- Demonstrated experience at supervisory or management level.
- Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Zambian tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
- Working knowledge of Sage Evolution 200 (added advantage).
- Experience in inventory accounting and stock reconciliation (added advantage).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
