Job Summary:
The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and test new machinery and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on all mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and breakdowns.
- Repair and replace defective parts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve machine efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Technologist level).
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be a registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
