Business Manager
The Business Manager is responsible for driving business growth through effective sales leadership while ensuring operational efficiency across the organization. This role combines strategic sales management with hands-on operational oversight to achieve company revenue, productivity, and service delivery goals. Additionally, the role oversees inventory management, basic bookkeeping support, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Legal team. The position requires a results-oriented leader with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to align sales and operations strategies to deliver sustainable growth and superior customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Marketing Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence.
- Build and maintain key client relationships to drive customer loyalty and revenue growth.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to refine sales tactics.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses for management review.
- Implement and manage CRM systems to track the sales pipeline, customer engagement, and conversion metrics.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams on promotional campaigns and brand initiatives.
2. Operations and Process Management
- Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
- Develop, document, and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Coordinate logistics, inventory management, and supply chain activities to ensure accurate stock control and timely replenishment.
- Oversee basic bookkeeping activities related to operational expenses, reconciliations, and stock valuations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements to optimize costs and quality.
- Monitor budgets, control expenses, and ensure cost-effective operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Legal team, maintaining adherence to statutory, labor, and industry-specific standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Support recruitment, training, and development of sales and operational staff to build a high-performing team
3. Strategic Alignment and Reporting
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to align commercial and operational strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide regular performance updates, insights, and recommendations to executive management.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth coordination between sales, operations, and finance departments.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in sales and operations management, ideally within retail, FMCG, or service sectors.
- At least 2years in a senior or leadership role
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and achieving measurable business results.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems, MS Office Suite, and data-driven decision-making.
