Job Purpose:
To assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical machinery and equipment — including cutting, bending, and welding machines — ensuring smooth and safe operations in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, align, and assemble mechanical components and production machines (e.g. cutting, bending, rolling, and welding machines).
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
Operate and maintain workshop machines such as, grinders, drills, and welding equipment.
Carry out fabrication, fitting, and welding tasks as required for new installations or repairs.
Ensure all tools and machines are kept in good working condition.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Work closely with engineers and production staff to minimize machine downtime.
Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Machining, or related field.
5 years or more Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Knowledge of fabrication, cutting, bending, and welding processes.
