About the role:
Our client is a trusted supplier of specialized industrial equipment, including dewatering pumps, slurry pump spare parts, and industrial filters, serving the vital mining and heavy industry sectors in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). They rely on efficient internal operations to support their technical sales and logistics teams. They are seeking an ambitious, results-driven B2B Sales Representative to expand our footprint and strengthen relationships within this vital regional market.
Key Responsibilities:
The B2B Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer accounts, and executing the company's sales strategy within the assigned territory.
- Sales Generation:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Zambian and DRC mining, construction, and industrial sectors.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for pumps, spare parts, and filters.
- Develop and present compelling sales proposals, tenders, and quotations tailored to client needs.
- Account Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., Procurement Managers, Maintenance Engineers, Mine Managers).
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conduct regular site visits (where appropriate and safe) to understand customer requirements and technical challenges first-hand.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to identify opportunities and threats.
- Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts and reports to the Sales Manager.
- Work closely with the technical and logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and service delivery.
- Product Expertise:
- Develop a deep, technical understanding of all products, including various types of dewatering and slurry pumps, their associated spares, and industrial filtration media/equipment.
- Effectively communicate the technical benefits and ROI of our solutions to clients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining, or Electrical preferred), Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of successful B2B technical sales experience, ideally within the mining, industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or pump/filtration sectors in Zambia and/or the DRC.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven understanding of the operational requirements and procurement processes within the Copperbelt and Katanga mining regions.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is a significant advantage, particularly for the DRC market.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and discuss technical specifications of industrial pumps, spare parts, and filtration systems.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Zambia and the DRC (up to 50% travel) is essential.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and passport.
