TB Reach Wave 11 Plus
The TB reach Wave 11 Plus project aims to provide quality evidence to inform policy makers in decisions around deployment and implementation of Near Point of Care (NPOCs) tests at community and primary health care levels to increase access to quality TB screening and diagnosis in Zambia. The project will focus on measuring the health service impact of whether NPOC deployment at Primary Healthcare (PHC) facilities increases TB testing and notification. The data associate will work to collect data from several health facilities in Ndola district. To support the wide range of activities for the TB Reach Wave 11 plus project, we are looking for ambitious, suitably qualified candidates to fill the following exciting positions that have arisen:
Position: Data Associate (3)
Location: Ndola
The appointed data associate will be stationed at the community hub in Mapalo Ndola and will be accountable to the TB Reach Wave 11 Plus Data Manager and the Head of Research Data and Statistics department in Lusaka.
Key roles and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
· In charge of data entry and data quality of assigned datasets.
· Drive and manage the process of data collection by transferring data from paper or other sources into digital formats like Excel or specific databases.
· Control the quality of collected data in close collaboration with the study staff and the Data Manager in Ndola.
· Sorting, filing, and maintaining both digital and physical records.
· Collect and compile routine health care data from the clinic and reconcile all discrepancies within assigned datasets (TB notification and suspect register, lab registers, TPT-registers and other conditions).
· Handling sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
· Provide daily feedback to study team and Data Manager in Ndola.
Essential Requirements:
· Diploma in information technology, health-informatics or any similar field.
· Proficiency in data entry and knowledge of the TB care and treatment pathway.
· Prior experience in TB care and treatment projects.
· Ability to critically interrogate the quality of data.
· Experience of working with health systems data and patient records.
Desirable:
· A bachelor’s degree in the relative field will be an added advantage.
· Experience working in a (public health) research setting.
· Experience using SmartCare, DHIS-2, Tableau or Microsoft Excel.
· Experience using data collection tools (questionnaires).
· An understanding of health system strengthening concepts.
