Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) owns and operates the Lubambe underground Copper Mine located in Chililabombwe District of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Mine which commenced operations in 2012 is situated approximately 468 kilometres North of the Capital City of Lusaka, 152 Kilometres from Ndola and approximately 40 Kilometres from Chingola.
Lubambe Copper Mine sits on an area of approximately 58.1 square kilometres and comprises an existing underground mine, characterised by two distinct limbs (the East and South Limbs) and a processing Plant with a capacity to process up to 2.4 million tonnes per annum.

LCML seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:
SECURITY SUPERINTENDENT (X1)
This position reports to the Security Manager.
Core Purpose of the Position:
The Security Superintendent supports the Security Manager to manage and safeguard Company resources and investigate breaches of security. The role is responsible for initiating and managing appropriate security systems to minimise risks relating to security of Company staff and assets. The role holder also manages the day-to-day security shift operations.
Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):
- Implement and sustain physical means of protecting staff, company property and be alert for proper guarding against thefts, pilferage, accidents and intrusion into the mine land.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the current security service provider (contract management).
- Monitor the team and achieve decisive results through effective supervision of subordinates.
- Ensure all company items received into the plant are marked with a company identity mark and inventory of the exercise kept up to date.
- Coordinate all access control activities including monitoring of deliveries without orders and asset tracking.
- Ensure all workshops/buffer stores update their inventory register by conducting audits and snap checks.
- Provide appropriate training to security Staff.
- Allocate duties to Mine security and ensure that the officers are aware of their posts and site instructions (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Conduct investigations into assigned cases affecting company as well as misappropriation of company property.
- Any other duties aimed at loss/risk reduction to the company
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Degree in Security management course or any other social science.
- Relevant security training.
- Possession of valid SADC Drivers licence.
- Computer literate with excel and word being a must.
- At least 10 years of handling security matters preferably in the Mining Industry.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent Written Communication skills and analytical skills.
- Efficient organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work with own initiative.
