TORs for a Leadership and Communication Training Consultant
1. Background
Undikumbukire Project Zambia has a capable senior management team made up of individuals who have grown into leadership roles through experience, commitment, and institutional knowledge. This internal growth reflects the organization’s strength in developing talent from within and its commitment to advancing its mission through dedicated leadership.
As the organization continues to grow, there is an opportunity to further strengthen leadership alignment, communication flow, and accountability structures so that the management team can work with even greater clarity and consistency. This consultancy is intended to build on the team’s existing strengths by supporting more effective leadership practices, improved communication, and stronger coordination across senior management.
Introduction
The purpose of this consultancy is to engage a qualified consultant to design and facilitate leadership and communication training for Undikumbukire Project Zambia’s senior management team. The assignment aims to strengthen leadership effectiveness, improve internal communication, and support a more aligned and accountable management culture.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be expected to undertake the following:
· Assess the leadership and communication needs of the senior management team.
· Design and facilitate a leadership and communication training intervention.
· Provide practical recommendations to improve leadership alignment and communication practices.
· Support the development of simple tools or approaches that can be used by the team after the training.
· Submit a final report summarising key findings, observations, and recommended next steps.
Deliverables
· An inception note or brief outlining the proposed approach and methodology.
· Facilitation of the agreed leadership and communication training sessions.
· A summary of key issues discussed during the engagement.
· Practical tools, templates, or recommendations agreed during the assignment.
· A final report outlining observations, key outcomes, and proposed follow-up actions.
Duration
The consultancy is expected to be completed within two weeks. The consultant will be expected to agree the detailed schedule and delivery approach with the organization at inception stage.
Evaluation Criteria
- Technical Proposal: Methodology, work plan, and understanding of the assignment (40%).
- Financial Proposal: Cost-effectiveness and value for money (30%).
- Consultant Profile: Experience and qualifications of the consulting team (30%).
The consultant/consulting team should have proven experience in leadership development, communication facilitation, and organisational capacity building. Experience working with management teams, particularly in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, will be an added advantage.
