Summary
Construction for Africa is a growing construction firm delivering high-impact infrastructure projects across Zambia. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support cost management, contract administration, and project delivery excellence across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
- Manage the full tendering process including preparation, evaluation, and reporting
- Monitor project costs and ensure delivery within approved budgets
- Conduct site measurements and valuations for interim and final payments
- Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution
- Track design changes and adjust cost projections accordingly
- Conduct market surveys for materials, labour, and equipment pricing
- Prepare financial and progress reports for management and clients
- Support procurement planning and subcontractor management
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in site visits, project meetings, and stakeholder engagements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
- Membership or registration with a relevant professional body such as:
- Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS)
- Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes
- Proficiency in MS Excel and cost estimation tools
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong financial reporting capability
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required
