Momentum Mining Services Limited is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to assist manage human resource matters on-site in Solwezi. The ideal candidate will be expected to possess sound knowledge of local labour laws, demonstrate a strong understanding of human resource policies and procedures, and effectively address employee queries through practical and compliant solutions. The role further requires the ability to recommend and implement practical HR interventions aimed at enhancing employee productivity and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment and Placement
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes for site-based employees by working closely with the Human Capital Manager, Site Manager and Operations Supervisor.
- Facilitate onboarding, induction, and deployment of new employees on site projects.
Employee Relations and Discipline
- Administer disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policy and labour legislation.
- Prepare disciplinary correspondence, hearing documentation, and case records.
- Support the Site Manager and other Senior personnel on-site in handling employee conduct and performance matters.
HR Records and Administration
- Maintain up-to-date employee files and HR records.
- Process confirmations, transfers, contract renewals, and terminations.
- Generate monthly HR statistics and reports.
Payroll Support
- Verify attendance, overtime, leave, and allowance inputs before payroll processing.
- Reconcile manpower records with payroll data.
Performance Management
- Assist coordinate probation assessments and annual performance reviews.
- Track completion of appraisal cycles and follow-up actions on-site.
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to labour legislation, internal HR policies, and mine site regulations.
- Support audits and any statutory inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Conversant with HR Software.
- Full membership with Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant HR experience in mining and construction industry.
