ABOUT THE ROLE
A reputable Insurance Broking company which has been in existence for over 30 years is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to lead the Ndola office (which manages the company’s 2nd largest portfolio). The role combines business development, portfolio stewardship and sales/marketing leadership to protect and grow existing clients and win new business. Applicants must be based in Ndola.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own Ndola branch commercial plan to meet revenue, profitability and market-share targets for the 2nd largest portfolio.
- Ensure portfolio retention, profitability, risk management and high service standards.
- Lead sales and marketing to generate qualified leads and grow cross-sell/up-sell revenue across corporate, SME and retail clients.
- Build and manage strategic insurer and partner relationships; negotiate terms with underwriting/legal support.
- Design integrated marketing campaigns and oversee full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure.
- Track pipeline, forecasts and KPIs; report branch performance to senior management.
- Recruit, mentor and lead the branch team; enforce sales processes, pricing controls and compliance.
- Monitor market, competitor and regulatory developments to inform branch strategy.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Must be currently based in Ndola (mandatory).
- 4–6 years in business development/sales/marketing in insurance broking, carriers or financial services, with ≥2 years in a managerial/team-lead role.
- Proven record winning/managing large corporate clients and meeting targets.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, stakeholder management and analytical skills.
- Hands-on marketing and CRM experience; proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Degree in Insurance & Pensions Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or related field; MBA or professional qualification advantageous.
- Membership or affiliation with relevant insurance/industry associations preferred.
