EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Stewards Globe Limited t/a Afriseed, one of the leading agricultural companies is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to ensure the accuracy, integrity of inventory records, and control of all inventory across all locations.
The position reports to the Senior Manager Finance & Investment and is a fixed term contract on an initial 24 months renewable subject to the terms and conditions.
Summary Responsibilities:
• Monitor inventory across all warehouses and locations to ensure high accuracy between physical and system stock and full batch/lot traceability
• Review daily inventory transactions: GRNs, Dispatches, Transfers, Production entries
• Ensure all raw material consumption is recorded and validate production output and yield
• Investigate deviations from BOM standards
• Identify and investigate stock variances and perform root cause analysis
• Perform full reconciliation by comparing physical stock (or latest counts), System stock (SAGE), GL balances
• Work with the management accountant to confirm: Stock quantities are accurate, valuation is correct: Cost per unit, total inventory value
• Production & Yield Analysis: compare: actual vs standard yield, highlight: Overconsumption, Inefficiencies
• Negative Stock Resolution: Ensure No negative stock at month-end and investigate and correct any negative stock before close
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements and enforce inventory SOP across departments
Required Minimum Education/training:
Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field, Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) preferred
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years relevant experience, experience with ERP systems (SAGE preferred)
Desirable Knowledge and Personal Qualities:
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, time management skills, strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under-pressure, flexibility and open mindedness, a team player, willingness to learn, able to work with little supervision, pro-active and solutions oriented.
