Nkhuni Farm is a growing commercial layer farm committed to producing high-quality eggs while maintaining excellent bird welfare, biosecurity, and operational standards. We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, and experienced individuals to join our team in the following positions:
1. Poultry Veterinarian
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of layer birds.
- Develop and implement vaccination, medication, and disease prevention programmes.
- Diagnose and treat poultry diseases.
- Monitor mortality trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure strict biosecurity protocols are followed.
- Advise management on flock health, nutrition, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate health, treatment, and vaccination records.
- Train and supervise farm staff on bird health and disease prevention.
- Liaise with laboratories and suppliers when required.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with commercial layer operations is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of poultry diseases, vaccination schedules, and biosecurity.
- Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Must be willing in the farm.
2. Poultry Worker
Key Responsibilities
- Feed and water layer birds according to farm schedules.
- Collect, grade, and pack eggs.
- Clean poultry houses and maintain high hygiene standards.
- Observe birds daily and report any signs of illness or abnormal behaviour.
- Remove mortalities and follow biosecurity procedures.
- Assist with vaccinations and routine farm operations.
- Keep accurate production and daily activity records.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Farm Manager.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Previous poultry farm experience is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and willing to work flexible hours.
- Honest, reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be willing in the farm.
