Stores Manager – Job Description (Summary)
The Stores Manager oversees daily operations, manages stock, ensures food safety compliance, supervises workers and ensures customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspects incoming stock items for quality and correct quantities
Counts food items and re-order before they run out
Use FIFO and other methods so that older items are sold first
Checks expiration dates regularly to reduce spoilage and damage
Follows local food laws and hygiene rules
Keeps the environment, storage areas, refrigerators, shelves clean and pest free
Monitors storage and freezer temperatures to prevent food spoilage
Trains and supervises team members and makes work schedules
Helps solve customers complaints to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction
Ensures all stock received is accounted for
Monitors daily sales, handle cash and deposits.
Responsible for meeting monthly sales targets
Makes daily, weekly and monthly sales reports and communicates to the management
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
G12 Certificate with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics.
Diploma or Degree in Hotel and Hospitality, Sales, Marketing, Retail or Business administration.
Computer literate-Proficient In MS Word, Excel. Familiarity with POS or inventory tracking system.
Ability to manage inventory, perform stock takes, reconcile deliveries.
Understanding of basic food Handling, hygiene standards.
Ability to supervise, train and motivate staff.
Experience in busy retail, supermarket or food store will be an added advantage.
