Job Description – Loan Officer
Position Summary
The Loan Officer is responsible for identifying potential clients, promoting the company's financial products, processing loan applications, conducting credit assessments, and managing a quality loan portfolio. The role requires strong sales ability, excellent customer service, and sound financial judgment to ensure responsible lending while meeting business growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and market the company's loan products to individuals and businesses.
- Identify and recruit new customers while maintaining existing client relationships.
- Receive, review, and process loan applications.
- Conduct customer interviews and verify financial and personal information.
- Perform credit analysis and assess applicants' repayment capacity.
- Recommend loan approvals or rejections based on company lending policies.
- Prepare loan documentation and ensure all required documents are complete.
- Monitor loan repayments and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Educate customers on loan terms, repayment schedules, and financial obligations.
- Maintain accurate customer records and prepare regular portfolio reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management procedures.
- Achieve monthly sales, loan disbursement, and portfolio quality targets.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in lending, banking, microfinance, sales, or customer service is an added advantage.

Reporting Line
The Loan Officer reports directly to the Branch Manager or Credit Manager.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with regular field visits to meet clients and conduct loan assessments.
- May require travel within the assigned area to support business development and customer service.
