The Community Engagement Manager is the bridge between MCI and the mining communities it serves. This role is responsible for building trust, facilitating dialogue, and ensuring that community voices and needs are central to MCI's work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategy for meaningful and sustained community engagement across MCI's operational provinces.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, mining cooperatives, and local civil society organizations.
- Identify community needs and priorities through regular dialogue and feedback mechanisms.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and training sessions.
- Ensure that MCI's programs are culturally sensitive and responsive to local contexts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in community mobilization, engagement, or development work, ideally in the extractives sector.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Fluency in local languages spoken in Zambia's mining regions is essential.
- Ability to travel frequently and work in remote areas.
