About LIC
Life Initiative for Change (LIC) is a local Zambian NGO that works to improve the lives of women, girls, youth, and vulnerable groups. Our goal is to build a fair and thriving society where everyone has access to good health, better livelihoods, and justice. We work with communities and local partners to find practical solutions that address health, economic, and environmental challenges. LIC focuses on four main areas:
(i) Health –– promoting sexual and reproductive health, access to clean water and sanitation, proper waste management, and other initiatives that support a healthy and safe environment
(ii) Economic Empowerment – creating opportunities for young people, women, and vulnerable groups through training, entrepreneurship, and income-generating activities;
(iii) Climate Resilience & Disaster Risk Reduction – helping communities prepare for and cope with the effects of climate change; and
(iv) Social Justice & Inclusive Governance – preventing gender-based violence, promoting equality, and ensuring everyone has a voice in community decisions.
Position Overview
The Intern Cashier will be responsible for handling client payments, issuing receipts, and ensuring that all clients are transitioned to the membership system. The role requires accuracy, integrity, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash transactions and maintain accurate records of all payments.
- Guide clients through the membership registration process and ensure fees are collected and properly recorded.
- Issue receipts and ensure all transactions comply with LIC financial procedures.
- Maintain an updated database of members and payment information.
- Provide daily cash summaries and reconciliation reports to the Finance & Administration Manager.
- Support awareness efforts to encourage clients to register for membership.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling client information.
- Perform other related finance or administrative duties as assigned.
