What you would be expected to do:
Monitoring and improvement of safety measures
- Conduct regular field visits to interact with sales agents, inverter installers, and Sun King’s field-based teams to assess safety risks, seek feedback, monitor adherence to health and safety processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and help the rollout of tailored health, safety, and wellbeing training for Sun King employees, sales agents, and installers, in partnership with Sun King’s Training & Development team.
- Check health and safety trends and emerging risks, and provide actionable insights to Sun King’s management.
Oversight of health, safety, and security risks and prevention initiatives for field-based teams
- Oversee Sun King’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program for sales agents and staff, including distribution of PPE, tracking PPE utilization, collecting feedback from users of PPE, measuring impact, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor Sun King’s emergency reporting tools, check turnaround times, and propose improvements.
Compliance and regulatory oversight
- Conduct compliance reviews to ensure alignment with health and safety statutory requirements in each country, maintaining a live repository of regulatory requirements and ensuring local teams are updated on changes.
- Assist with due diligence evaluation of prospective partners and vendors, conducting periodic reporting or on-site health & safety audits, as needed.
Audits, inspections, and risk management
- Oversee the administration of health and safety audits across Sun King’s offices, field sales activities, warehouses, and shops by working with a variety of cross-functional teams. Track audit completion status, compile audit findings, and develop and track closure of correction action plans.
- Conduct comprehensive health and safety risk assessments across all aspects of Sun King’s operations and ensure risk mitigation measures are in place.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause checking as required.
Health and safety governance, capacity building and coordination
- Help each country’s health and safety team with the coordination and execution of planned programs.
- Maintain health and safety dashboards to track key performance indicators for warehouses, shops, field team activities, and overall health and safety performance.
- Drive staff and sales agent wellbeing by helping with initiatives around mental health, stress management, fatigue awareness, and wellness campaigns.
- Coordinate health and safety onboarding processes for new Sun King employees and third-party contracted teams, including inverter installers.
- Help in the health, safety & wellbeing documentation and process development, including standard operating procedures, guidelines, and toolkits.
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health & safety, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in a health, safety, and wellbeing role, preferably in a field-based work environment.
- Experience working with distributed teams across different regions; preference for candidates with multi-country experience.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards (ISO 45001, NFPA, IFC, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with PPE programs, risk assessments, health and safety audits, and emergency frameworks.
