Role Purpose
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function for Unifi Zambia. This role is critical for supporting strategic business execution, ensuring the accuracy of all financial reporting, and maintaining rigorous compliance with tax and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills, leadership experience, and a proactive approach to managing the financial health of a dynamic, fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for Fixed Assets Register maintenance and reconciliation to GL.
- Identify risks, process flaws and improvement opportunities in the area and escalate.
- Monitoring and improving business and financial processes.
- Producing relevant and timely financial reports.
- Managing the financial health of the business.
- Manage all General Ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial reporting, in full compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
- Manage and grow the financial accounting team to ensure operational requests are dealt with efficiently.
- Further develop, document, and maintain related processes to ensure efficiencies.
- Support the Financial Operations team.
- Financial support and business upskilling.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- A relevant CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent professional qualification is imperative.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS).
- Proven ability to delegate, lead, and mentor a team.
- Demonstrable experience in running and managing the annual audit process.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the confidence to deal with all levels of management.
- Ability to form and manage key corporate relationships, particularly with banks and major suppliers.
- Critical analytical thinker with the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Meticulous attention to detail and timing; capable of distilling large volumes of complex information.
