RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Ø Design and planning: Conduct feasibility studies, interpret engineering drawings, and develop road layouts and geometric designs that comply with Zambia and international standards.
Ø Project management: Oversee the construction process from start to finish, including managing budgets, timelines and resources.
Ø Site supervision: Supervise site activities such as earthworks, grading, paving, and drainage, ensuring adherence to project plans.
Ø Quality assurance: Implement quality control systems, conduct site inspections, and perform material testing to ensure work meets specifications.
Ø Health and safety: Ensure all road works comply with traffic safety management plans and occupational health and safety standards.
Ø Maintenance and inspection: Plan and implement road maintenance programs and conduct regular inspections to identify and address defects or safety hazards.
Ø Stakeholder coordination: Liaise with clients, government departments (like the Road Development Agency),and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
Ø Immediately report problems / failures that impact on the organization to the site officer.
Ø Adhere to all organization policies and procedures.
Ø Set an example for team members of commitment, dedication, work ethics and habits and personal character.
Ø You are responsible for your allocated work-load and must meet all targets as agreed with site officer. You must contribute towards the efficient running of the organization generally.
Ø Daily reporting on the work done a must.
Ø Always submit a report for your monthly activities for your remuneration to the Projects Director.
