About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter with specialized expertise in flat roofing systems to join our professional construction team on a Project. The ideal candidate will be a craftsperson who takes immense pride in their work, with a deep understanding of the techniques required to construct durable, long-lasting, and watertight flat roofs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain a residential flat roofing system
- Prepare roof decks to the highest standard, including the installation of appropriate insulation, vapor barriers, and cover boards.
- Accurately apply different waterproofing membranes, such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, or modified bitumen.
- Expertly create and install critical detailing, including flashings, drip edges, parapet walls, and roof penetrations to ensure complete weatherproofing.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturers' installation guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, particularly those related to working at heights.
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition.
- Perform general carpentry and finishing work as required by the project.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a Carpenter.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience specifically with flat roof construction and repair is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of roof deck preparation, insulation materials, and various waterproofing application methods.
- Proficiency with the hand and power tools required for carpentry and roofing.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Must hold a craft Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery or related
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
- Must provide traceable references
- Compensation is negotiable
