- INTRODUCTION
Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely, Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

ii)A BOREHOLE REHABILITATION (UPGRADE) FROM A HAND PUMP TO A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, NKURUMAH EXTENTION, KABWE.
Habitat for Humanity Zambia promotes a community driven approach involving the Local Authority (Council),Lgwssc,District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), Community members and its leadership from the onset during the planning, implementation, monitoring and completion of installation works. This ensures development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance with the scope of works (see annex 1 below).
Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids:
i) THE CONSTRUCTION OF 1 WATER KIOSK IN KATONDO SETTELEMENT,
ii)A BOREHOLE REHABILITATION (UPGRADE) FROM A HAND PUMP TO A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM, SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK, NKURUMAH EXTENTION, KABWE.
The scope of works For Borehole upgrade i) Pump testing of existing Borehole ii) Water quality testing ii) supply and install submersible pump and necessary accessories iii) Installation of tank stand and 10,000L Tank iv) Installation of Solar panels and housing v) Construction of civil works -Borehole chamber, bucket rests, Water kiosks, Soak pits and stand tap apron vi) Pipe reticulation and plumbing works to hand wash and water kiosks vii) Wire Fencing works and solar light installations and viii) Sandfilter,Water meter and Inline chlorinator installations.
This scope of works for Water Kiosk i) Substructure works: Excavations, concrete footings and blockwork works, , back filling material (Gravel or laterite) ii) Superstructure works: slab concrete works, blockwork, concrete window cills, Lintel construction works, and concrete roof works, iron Mongery fittings and Plumbing fittings and Finishes i.e Plastering, screed, rough cast and painting.

3.ELIGIBLE BIDDERS

The Bidder is required to possess the following.
General Eligibility and Compliance
-Valid NCC category B or C
-Valid ZPPA Certificate
-Valid Pacra Registration
-Valid TPIN
-Company Profile with physical address
-Valid WARMA Constructors Registrations or WARMA Drillers License
-Valid EIZ registration License
-Valid Tax Clearance certificate
-Provision of brief method statement
-Provision of 3 Months latest bank statements
-Duration of project & Gant chat showing schedule of works
4.Personnel, Experience and Equipment
-Valid EIZ Registered Water engineer, civil engineer, hydrogeologist, hydrologist or related qualifications with diploma or degree added advantage with at least 3 years' experience for supervision of works. (attach CV and qualifications)
-Plumber at least 3 years' experience (attach CV and qualifications)
-Bricklayer or Buildings Works Supervision at least 3 years' experience (attach CV and qualifications)
-Electrician at least 1 year experience (Solar specialized) (attach CV and qualifications)
-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion, award letters, Purchase orders).
-Proof of ownership 4x4 truck (Light or non-light)
- Deep water meter (Hired or owned)
- Plate compactor
-Poker vibrator
-Dumpy level
-Concrete mixer
-Basic tools (Wheel burrows, shovels etc)
-Genset able to operate during load shedding
-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion, award letters, Purchase orders).
For all equipment and tools, bidders must provide proof of ownership or a signed lease agreement
The Bidder is encouraged to visit the site and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid. The costs of visiting the site shall be at the Bidder’s own expense.
5. DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION
All bids must:
Be addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee
Be physically submitted in a sealed envelope
Be accompanied by a non-returnable USB flash drive containing soft copies of all submitted documents

All bids must be priced in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW) and be inclusive of all applicable taxes.
Important Notice: All bidders are strongly advised to ensure that the correct submission register is fully completed at the time of submission. Any bid that is incorrectly or improperly signed will result in automatic disqualification at the bid opening stage.
7. SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Upon notification of award, the Employer shall promptly issue the successful bidder with the Contract Agreement for review and signing.
8. PROJECT DURATION
The project is expected to be completed within 30 days from the date of contract signing.
