1. Troubleshooting and Support
- Assist in resolving basic to intermediate network issues involving Cisco IOS XE/XR, MPLS, LDP, BGP, OSPF, and vendor-specific systems (Fortinet, Calix, Infinera, Juniper).
- Provide frontline support for core network operations and NOC customer escalations under senior guidance.
- Document troubleshooting steps and outcomes for team review and reporting.
2. Network Implementation and Configuration
- Support the installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software, including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Fortinet firewalls, Calix platforms, and Infinera DWDM systems.
- Assist in implementing basic BGP, OSPF, and MPLS configurations as directed by senior engineers.
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations and contribute to operational reports.
- Microwave radio experience and spectrum planning.
3. Monitoring and Maintenance
- Monitor network performance using provided tools, escalating anomalies to senior team members.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on core and access network components, following established procedures.
- Update network diagrams and logs to support operational documentation and reporting.
4. Learning and Collaboration
- Work closely with senior engineers to gain hands-on experience with advanced BGP routing, switching, and DWDM technologies.
- Participate in team projects, contributing to basic design and support tasks as assigned.
- Assist in preparing simple performance or incident reports for internal use.
Roles and responsibilities can be amended as per the requirements of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 2-3 years of ICT experience or relevant internship exposure to networking technologies (routing, switching, DWDM) in a service provider or enterprise environment.
- Basic hands-on experience with Cisco IOS XE/XR, Juniper devices, or Fortinet products is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s license and Passport.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- CCNA
- CCNP Certification (or progress toward it) is highly desirable.
- Exposure to reporting tools or network monitoring platforms is an advantage.
- Certifications in Fortinet (e.g., NSE 4 or higher), Juniper (e.g., JNCIA), or DWDM technologies are advantageous.
Experience with reporting tools and network analytic platforms is a plus.
