The Senior IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s IT operations to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure and services. This role leads IT operations teams, manages vendors, ensures service availability, and aligns IT operations with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day IT operations, ensuring high availability and performance of systems and services
- Oversee IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications
- Implement and maintain IT service management processes (ITIL) such as incident, problem, change, and release management
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and security, and lead incident response and root cause analysis
- Manage cloud and on-premise environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid)
- Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts, and SLAs
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT operations teams
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and dashboards for senior management
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support business growth and digital transformation initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems is required or strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in IT operations
- At least 4–5 years of experience in a senior management or leadership role
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and enterprise systems
- Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL) and operational best practices
- Experience leading distributed or remote IT operations teams is an added advantage
