Jacaranda Hub (JHub) is an Entrepreneurship Service Provider (ESP), social enterprise, and ecosystem builder committed to supporting youth and women entrepreneurs across Zambia. Through partnerships, innovation programmes, and shared services, JHub strengthens MSMEs and drives inclusive socio-economic development.
The Managing Editor will lead the strategic development, curation, and production of Jacaranda Hub’s Startup Journal and related digital content. This role is central to positioning JHub as a premier thought leadership platform by telling the stories of Zambian innovation and providing actionable insights for entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the annual editorial calendar and content strategy for the Startup Journal.
Commission, write, and edit high-quality articles, interviews, case studies, and reports.
Manage the end-to-end editorial and production process, from concept development to
design and publication.
Build and manage a network of contributors, freelancers, and partner publications.
Collaborate with the Programmes and Partnerships teams to align content with JHub’s strategic initiatives, including the RISE Journal.
Analyse reader engagement and performance metrics to grow the journal’s audience
and overall impact.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years’ proven experience in editorial leadership, preferably
within business, technology, entrepreneurship, or startup-focused media.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong editorial judgment.
Strong project management and team coordination capabilities.
Demonstrated understanding of Zambia’s entrepreneurship and SME ecosystem.
Experience with digital publishing platforms and basic content analytics tools.
Copywriting, publishing or editorial experience will be an added advantage
