The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed on the construction site. The role includes conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, enforcing safety procedures, providing safety training to workers, and ensuring the proper use of protective equipment to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
Education Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Additional Health and Safety training certificates (e.g., First Aid, Fire Safety, or Risk Assessment) will be an added advantage.
Professional Registration
- Membership or affiliation with a recognized safety body such as the Zambia Institute of Safety Professionals may be required or considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction or industrial environments.
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, incident reporting, and enforcing safety procedures on site.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Strong observation, communication, and reporting skills.
