Job Summary
The Geologist is responsible for studying rocks, minerals, soil, and underground water to understand geological conditions. The role involves conducting field investigations, collecting and analyzing samples, preparing geological reports, and supporting mining, environmental, or construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological field mapping and surveys.
- Collect and analyze rock, soil, and mineral samples.
- Prepare geological maps, reports, and presentations.
- Monitor drilling and exploration activities.
- Interpret geological data using software and laboratory results.
- Identify mineral or groundwater resources.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Work with engineers, environmental scientists, and mining teams.
- Assess geological risks for construction or mining projects.
- Maintain accurate field and laboratory records.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
- Knowledge of geological mapping and sampling techniques.
- Understanding of mining, environmental, or hydrogeological processes.
- Ability to use geological software and GPS tools.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work in remote field locations when required.
