Freight Forwarding Assistant

Job Overview
The Freight Forwarding Assistant will support the Freight Forwarding Supervisor and team in coordinating import, export, and transit shipments. This role requires broad knowledge of freight forwarding processes, documentation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless cargo movement and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in booking shipments, preparing documentation, and coordinating dispatches.
- Liaise with transporters, shipping lines, airlines, and agents for smooth cargo handling.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Track and update clients on shipment progress and delivery timelines.
- Verify freight charges and assist in preparing supplier and client invoices.
- Maintain accurate shipment files and operational records.
- Support compliance with customs and transport regulations.
- Assist in coordination between the freight forwarding, customs, and finance departments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a logistics or freight forwarding environment.
- Basic understanding of import/export procedures and shipping documentation.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
