A Tracking Control room operator is responsible for monitoring a fleet of trucks and security convoys in real-time using a monitoring system. Key duties include tracking truck positions, updating clients, assigning escorts, and handling incidents like breakdowns or delays. This role requires strong computer literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm during crises.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and track: Use the Truck Monitoring System to track the location of all trucks and report their status.
- Communicate and update: Provide timely updates on truck positions, incidents, and delays to the client through the monitoring system and WhatsApp groups.
- Assign and coordinate: Assign security escort guards to dispatch locations based on client requirements and ensure they report their positions to the control room.
- Manage incidents: Respond to and manage incidents, breakdowns, and delays, making sure all appropriate actions are taken and reported to the client.
- Report and document: Prepare various reports, including daily summaries, tracking reports, and financial requests, and ensure all duty handovers are properly signed.
- Handle client queries: Address client questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Computer literate, MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Previous experience will be an added advantage. Must have a combination of experience and training (Diploma or Degree in Information and Technology) which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Attention to detail: Essential for accurate tracking and reporting.
- Calm under pressure: Must be able to function calmly and effectively during high-stress situations.
- Must be a resident of Kitwe or willing to relocate (strictly)
