Job Description
The Cashier will be responsible for handling daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, issuing receipts, and managing cash flow for company operations. The role requires high integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cash, mobile money, and electronic payments
- Issue receipts and maintain proper documentation for all transactions
- Record daily financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare daily cash summaries and reconcile balances
- Safeguard company funds and ensure proper cash-handling procedures
- Support basic administrative tasks as assigned
- Maintain a clean and organised cashier workstation
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
- Assist in preparing financial reports when required
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
Requirements
- A qualification in a business-related program (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field)
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Honest, sober-minded, and self-motivated
- Able to work with little to no supervision
- High level of discipline and strong time-keeping habits
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly
- Basic computer skills (Excel, POS systems, or accounting software is an added advantage)
