About E-Ride Zambia
E-Ride Zambia is pioneering electric mobility solutions across Zambia. We develop, assemble, and market solar batteries and electric motorcycles from our Lusaka hub, working closely with our research and development team in Zurich, Switzerland. As we grow our impact, we're seeking a multifaceted Country Manager (female/male) to lead and expand our Zambian operations.
The Role
As Engineering Team Lead & Project Manager, you'll lead our Zambian technical team while driving operational efficiency and product delivery. This role demands both technical leadership and the ability to motivate and inspire a growing engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations Management
- Oversee assembly line operations for electric motorcycles and battery systems
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and quality control
- Manage technical project delivery, including the Chipata expansion initiative
- Ensure equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and technical compliance
- Optimize resource allocation across engineering projects
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and remove team blockers
Engineering Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and scale our engineering and production teams (currently 3 engineers/technicians)
- Establish engineering best practices, quality standards, and production workflows
- Help the young engineers across mechanical, electrical, and assembly disciplines
- Build talent pipeline through recruitment, training, and performance development
- Foster innovation culture while maintaining production targets
- Coordinate technical collaboration with our Swiss R&D team
Strategic Business Interface
- Translate business objectives into engineering deliverables
- Partner with sales on technical specifications and customer requirements
- Manage regulatory compliance for technical certifications and standards
- Drive cost optimization without compromising quality
What You Bring

Technical Skills (Preferred)

- Experience with renewable energy preferred
- Familiarity with CAD tools, production planning software preferred
