SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Human Resource Officer to join our team and enhance our HR operations.
Role Summary
The Senior Human Resource Officer will lead strategic and operational HR functions within HR Leverage Zambia. This role involves managing talent acquisition, employee relations, HR compliance, organizational development, and supporting client-facing HR activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of strengthening internal HR structures while ensuring consistent delivery of professional HR services.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for technical and non-technical roles
- Develop job descriptions and competency profiles
- Oversee onboarding and employee integration
Performance Management
- Implement and manage a structured performance appraisal system
- Support managers with goal setting and evaluations
- Identify and develop high-performing employees
Learning & Development
- Conduct annual training needs assessments
- Coordinate internal and external training programs
- Track training outcomes and maintain development records
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Manage grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters
- Ensure consistency in policy application
- Drive employee engagement and wellness initiatives
Compensation & Benefits
- Coordinate payroll inputs for timely processing
- Support salary benchmarking and compensation reviews
- Administer statutory benefits (NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, etc.)
HR Policy & Compliance
- Develop and update HR policies
- Ensure compliance with Zambian labour laws
- Support compliance audits and reporting
Workforce Planning
- Support organizational structuring and job grading
- Advise on staffing and optimization strategies
HR Metrics & Reporting
- Maintain HR dashboards and analytics
- Track turnover, absenteeism, training hours, etc.
Health, Safety & Well-being
- Support implementation of safety and wellness programs
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
- Manage leave, exits, and HR documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or related field
- 5–7 years’ HR experience, ideally in consultancy, mining, or technical industries
- Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is required.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian labor laws and HR compliance
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work with diverse teams and senior stakeholders
