Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company financial procedures. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting fundamentals and practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Support preparation of statutory returns ( VAT, INCOME TAX etc.)
- Assist with budgeting and expense control
- Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and records
- Support audits and provide required financial documentation
- Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Accounting or related field
- Registered member of ACCA or ZICA
- 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
