Job Purpose:
Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior executive responsible for driving Afroil’s
organization's revenue growth, profitability, and market share. In specific, the role is charged to
manage the business (Retail & Commercial) and resources (people, capital assets) in
totality to achieve the company’s business objectives through direct and indirect customer
interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a robust and profitable Retail Network along major key roads and markets in the country
• Develop commercial business portfolio, including all major sectors: Mining, Manufacturing,
Transport, Agriculture, etc
• Develop a sustained fuel transit business to markets outside Zambia
• Drive sales performance through implementation of sales and marketing initiatives to achieve
financial targets
• Monitor key accounts performance trends and determine appropriate actions to address any issues
to optimize the business
• Deliver best-in-class customer service
• Compliance to credit policy
• Act as a professional advisor and assume leadership role between Afroil and its customers
• Ensure that Company’s corporate image is maintained
• Provide the Company with marketing/sales intelligence
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
• Provide leadership in Project Management for Retail and Commercial Projects
• Optimize the Retail & Commercial development budget on all projects

Qualification and Experience
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent. Post Graduate
qualifications will be added advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior managerial role.
• Experience in Oil industry and project management is mandatory.
