Position: Lab Assistant Trainee (Entry-Level)

Contract Type & Duration
This is a trainee position offered on a contract basis, starting with a three (3) month probationary period. Strong performers may be considered for contract extension or longer-term opportunities, depending on performance and project needs.

What You Will Learn & Do
- Learn how to prepare laboratory tools, materials, and reagents
- Assist with basic soil testing and sample analysis
- Handle soil samples, including receiving, labeling, storing, and dispatching
- Record test results and maintain laboratory records accurately
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as weighing, mixing, and sample preparation
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Support other laboratory tasks as assigned by supervisors
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- No work experience required (basic knowledge of soil testing or laboratory procedures is an advantage).
- Based in Livingstone or willing to relocate.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Android smartphone and basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Good communication skills and a positive team attitude
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor laboratory work
- Hands-on tasks involving soil samples and laboratory equipment
