Chesco Tech is seeking a skilled, experienced, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting business decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.
This role is ideal for a proactive professional who can maintain strong financial controls while contributing to the company’s growth and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations
- Manage all accounting transactions and maintain the general ledger
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage petty cash
- Ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in financial analysis and performance tracking
- Support budget preparation and monitor actual vs budget performance
Compliance & Statutory Obligations
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns with:
- Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA)
- NAPSA
- NHIMA
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory requirements
Audit & Controls
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
General Duties
- Support management with financial insights where required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Part or full professional qualification (BA ACCOUNTANCY, ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE, ZICA, ACCA, CIMA)
- A paid up member of ZICA
- Minimum 1–2 years proven experience as an Accountant
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, ERP systems) is an advantage
- Valid Driver’s License
