Ubuntu Wealth Creation is a duly registered membership-based private limited liability Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) under the Office of the Registrar of Cooperatives with a mission to uplift the economic and social standard of members by providing financial support structures necessary for the development of its members. With the current membership standing at 325, Ubuntu Cooperative is keen to continue to grow this number further within its common bond of employees from NGOs working in the health and education sector, private health facilities, private schools and Government entities with localized payrolls.

1. Business and Accounting Officer (1)
Ubuntu Wealth Creation Savings and Credit Cooperative is seeking a competent and proactive Business and Accounting Officer to support its financial management, loan administration, and business operations. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements, supporting treasury and tax functions, and contributing to effective decision-making through timely reporting. The successful candidate will also play a key role in member-related processes, loan tracking, and safeguarding the Cooperative’s financial integrity.
Specific Responsibilities
· Business information management (membership recruitments and MOUs)
· Financial reporting (recording, reconciliations and tracking of financial transactions, periodic reporting for timely business decision-making by management
· Internal controls, compliance and risk management (timely appropriate and corrective interventions to avoid loss of business or income and also audit preparations and follow-on actions on audit recommendations)
· Collaborate with the Cooperative lawyers regarding legal matters relating to loan defaulters
· Treasury and cash management (banking activities and communications)
· Tax management (timely processing of tax returns and payments of statutory obligations and statement reconciliations)
· Reconcile system cash book transactions to the bank transactions
· Capture transactions of savings, loans, expenses and shares in the loan management system
· Perform general duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications/Required Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
· Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA is an added advantage.
· At least 3–5 years’ experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a SACCO, microfinance, or financial institution.
· Strong knowledge of cooperative accounting, IFRS, and financial management.
· Proficiency in accounting software and a loan management system.
· Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
2. Finance Interns (2)
We are seeking two (2) motivated and detail-oriented interns to support core operations of the SACCO, particularly in loan administration, financial record management, and member services. The successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in SACCO/microfinance operations while contributing to efficient service delivery and strong financial management practices.
Specific Responsibilities
· Support loan administration processes including member engagement, loan disbursement, repayment tracking and loan collections; assist with reconciliations (ledger, cashbook, and bank); and maintain accurate, up-to-date member records and KYC documentation in the loan management system
· Undertake other duties assigned by the supervisor and ExCom from time to time.
Qualifications/Required Skills
· Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Business, Banking, or any other related training.
· Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize them appropriately.
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Active listening and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly excel) and other relevant software programmes.
· Experience in loan management will be an added advantage.
