Purpose of Role
The Manager – Legal Services will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Legal Services Department, providing legal advice, drafting/reviewing, and contract management, litigation oversight, corporate governance, and case management and coordination, ensuring the Corporation’s operations comply with laws and internal policies.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, procurement, employment, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and MoUs; oversee contract compliance.
- Represent the Corporation in courts, tribunals, and arbitration; manage litigation and dispute resolution.
- Provides subsidiary board secretarial support, including drafting work plans, agendas, notices, and resolutions.
- Protect and manage intellectual property rights; ensure compliance with data protection and digital regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Legal Officers and departmental staff.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with at least five (5) merits including English and Mathematics.
- LLB degree and admission as Advocate of the High Court of Zambia with a valid Legal Practicing Certificate.
- Membership in the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ).
- Master’s in Law is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years post-admission experience, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level in a corporate or quasi-government institution.
