Position: Marketing & PR Officer
Location: Lusaka – Head Office
Job Purpose
The Marketing & PR Officer will support the execution of the Group’s marketing, branding, and public relations initiatives through content development, campaign coordination, media engagement, event management, and stakeholder communications. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Group Marketing Calendar and contributing to enhanced brand visibility, customer engagement, and corporate reputation across all subsidiaries.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head – Marketing, PR & Branding
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing & Public Relations
- Support the implementation of marketing and communication strategies aligned with the Group’s brand objectives.
- Coordinate the rollout of advertising, promotional, and awareness campaigns across all subsidiaries.
- Maintain and update the Group Marketing Calendar, ensuring timely execution of planned activities.
- Draft and distribute press releases, newsletters, media statements, and other communication materials.
- Coordinate media engagements and maintain positive relationships with media partners and stakeholders.
- Manage the procurement and distribution of branded materials, ensuring compliance with corporate identity guidelines.
- Coordinate radio and television productions, including concept development, scripting, and content preparation to promote the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Support the planning and execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that enhance the Group’s reputation and community impact.
2. Digital Marketing & Brand Management
- Liaise with advertising and creative agencies to develop and manage content across digital and social media platforms.
- Prepare agency briefs for creative campaigns, promotional materials, and internal communication initiatives.
- Monitor website and social media performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve reach, engagement, and brand visibility.
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging and visual identity across all communication channels.
3. Events, Sponsorships & Activations
- Coordinate the planning and execution of marketing events, activations, sponsorships, exhibitions, and corporate engagements.
- Represent the Group at exhibitions, industry events, and promotional activities as assigned.
- Ensure effective branding and visibility at all events and public engagements.
4. Market Research & Reporting
- Conduct market, customer, and competitor research to support marketing initiatives and business development efforts.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, social media performance, and activation outcomes.
- Prepare periodic marketing and public relations reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
5. Internal Communications
- Support the development of employee engagement and internal communication campaigns.
- Assist in producing internal newsletters, announcements, and corporate updates.
- Maintain branding standards across internal communication platforms and materials.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) and/or the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in marketing, branding, communications, or public relations.
- Certification in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Content Creation, or related disciplines will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with advertising agencies, media houses, and digital marketing platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital marketing tools.
