About the role:
Our Client is a reputable law firm . They need someone who is hands-on, proactive and comfortable working in a lean environment, supporting lawyers who are not IT specialists. The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s technology infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Strategic Scope: The IT Manager must be able to operate both at operational and advisory level. In particular, they should be capable of:
1. Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Managing firm-wide IT infrastructure (servers, networking, internet uptime).
- Ensuring reliability of email systems, document management tools and practice management software.
2. Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Implementing and monitoring cyber safeguards (firewalls, threat detection).
- Maintaining data protection protocols in line with legal privilege and confidentiality standards.
3. AI & Productivity Enablement
- Identifying and deploying AI-powered tools for legal workflows (document review, drafting assistance, search optimisation, dictation tools).
- Training staff to adopt and maximise use of such tools.
4. User Support & Communication
- Serving as the primary IT support contact for all staff.
- Able to communicate technical issues in clear, non-technical language.
5. Software & Vendor Management
- Overseeing licensing, installation and maintenance of software such as e-signature platforms, virtual data rooms, etc.
- Managing vendor relationships.
6. Compliance & Exit Protocols
- Ensuring access control, onboarding/offboarding procedures, and confidentiality assurance across systems.
7. Strategic IT Planning
- Advising Partners on technology improvements to enhance efficiency, security or client delivery
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of network administration, system security, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience with ERP systems, cloud computing, and data management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
