About the role:
Our client in the FMCG, and packaging distribution industry is looking for a Cashier to support daily sales operations by processing transactions accurately, maintaining financial records, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, detail-oriented, and able to operate effectively in a busy distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for administrative operations previously overseen by the Finance & Admin Manager.
- Process customer purchases accurately using the company’s POS or accounting system.
- Issue receipts, invoices, and credit notes as required.
- Handle cash, mobile money, and card transactions with accuracy and accountability.
- Reconcile daily sales, prepare cash summaries, and submit reports to the Finance or Admin team.
- Maintain proper records of all customer transactions and ensure alignment with inventory movements.
- Ensure products are billed using the correct pricing and discounts as approved by management.
- Provide professional, friendly customer service and assist customers with product or billing inquiries.
- Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure orders are billed and released correctly.
- Report any discrepancies in stock, payments, or billing immediately to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station.
- Support additional administrative tasks related to sales documentation or customer accounts when needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounts, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years experience in a cashier, accounts assistant, or sales support role—preferably in FMCG, retail, or distribution.
- Proven reliability in handling cash and digital payments.
- Strong numerical accuracy and record-keeping skills.
- Experience with POS systems or accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Palladium) is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment..
