Century Loans is seeking individual to join our growing team in the Collections Department as a Recoveries Officer. The Recoveries Officer will be responsible for minimizing losses by effectively recovering outstanding debt from clients who have defaulted on their loan repayments. This will involve proactive communication, negotiation, and implementation of recovery strategies while adhering to the institutions policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Debt Recovery: Contacting delinquent borrowers via phone, email, SMS, and in-person visits to negotiate repayment plans and recover outstanding balances.
- Portfolio Management: Managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts, prioritizing based on risk and outstanding amounts.
- Negotiation & Communication: Negotiating payment arrangements with borrowers, explaining loans terms and consequences of default, and documenting all communication.
- Client Tracing: Locating clients who have changed contact information, moved home locations, or are difficult to reach.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all recovery efforts, including communication logs, payment agreements, and legal actions.
- Reporting: Preparing regular reports on recovery progress, including collection rates, portfolio performance, and challenges faced.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a Certificate in a Social Science or any other related field.
- Proven experience in loan recoveries or collections, or any other related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large amounts of information.
- Strong ethical and moral character.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
