SERVICE TECHNICIAN – Hydraulic and Electrical
Provides technical support in electrical and mechanical maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to ensure high levels of reliability, availability, cost efficiency, and performance. Promotes strong customer relations, safety, and teamwork.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Carry out electrical, mechanical, and maintenance operations on assigned equipment.
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance; support planning and preparation; monitor outcomes; and complete detailed maintenance documentation (including root cause, downtime, and improvement actions).
· Conduct risk assessments, shift reports, and incident reports.
· Work according to standard operating procedures and company policies.
· Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational targets.
· Adhere to quality, safety, and housekeeping (5S) standards.
· Communicate operational status, challenges, and deviations promptly.
· Comply with all safe work practices and statutory requirements.
· Participate in continuous improvement and personal development initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
· Full Grade 12 School Certificate (ECZ).
· Craft Certificate or Advanced Craft Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from a TEVETA-accredited institution or equivalent.
· Registered Member or Affiliate of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) — valid membership required
· Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance of mining or heavy industrial equipment (underground experience will be an added advantage).
· Experience as a millwright (multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical systems) will be an added advantage.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
· Computer literacy – proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Good communication skills in English (French proficiency is an added advantage).
· Medically fit for work in an underground mining environment.
· Willingness to work shifts and remain on site during assigned rotations.
