JOB DESCRIPTION: CASHIER.

General Description.

A Hospital cashier is responsible for registering billing operations, to track and manage patient cash , credit and insurance payments.

Reports To: Out Patient Department Manager

DUTIES.

Administrative Support:

Assist front office/reception staff with patient coordination, scheduling follow-up visits, and answering calls as necessary.
Data entry and registering patients on the hospital management system.
Collecting cash from the customers, checking and charging services correctly.
Protecting patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Insurance and Corporate Billing: Verifying patient insurance information, complete and file necessary insurance forms, and ensure appropriate insurance guidelines are followed when providing services.
Customer Service:

Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
Answer patient inquiries, resolve complaints regarding billing, and provide information about hospital policies with empathy and patience.

Compliance and Reporting:

7.Maintain meticulous transaction records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for the finance department

8.Completing and following the closing of sales process according to guidelines provided by accounts department.

Skills/ Qualification

1. Minimum education required- Diploma in any business course

2. Strong math and computer skills

3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

5. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle patient queries with professionalism and discretion.
