JOB PURPOSE
The MIS Officer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the organization’s Management Information Systems to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable data for operational control, performance monitoring, and management decision-making.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MIS & Data Management
- Manage and maintain all MIS platforms supporting loans, investments , insurance broking and, and other financial services
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all systems
- Perform regular system reconciliations and data validations
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc management reports
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards for branches, products, and staff performance
- Analyze trends in transactions, volumes, income, and portfolio performance
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data analysis
System Support & Administration
- Provide system support to branch users, agents, and management staff
- Manage user access, permissions, and roles in line with internal controls
- Assist with system testing, upgrades, and new system implementations
- Maintain system documentation, manuals, and SOPs
Operational Support
- Support branch operations by monitoring transaction performance and system usage
- Identify data anomalies, variances, and potential risks and escalate appropriately
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Compliance, and ICT teams
Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
- Implement proper backup procedures and data recovery processes
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate system data

- Accuracy and timeliness of MIS reports
- System uptime and reliability

- Quality of management insights and analysis
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in an MIS, data, or reporting role
- Experience in financial services, microfinance, fund manegemnt is an added advantage
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Understanding of transactional systems and financial data
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
