Nkhuni Farm is looking for a dedicated and reliable Poultry Worker with hands-on experience in layer operations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a rural, off-grid environment for extended periods and committed to maintaining high standards of poultry care and farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and management of layer chickens
- Egg collection, grading, and proper storage
- Monitoring bird health and reporting any signs of disease
- Feeding, watering, and ensuring proper nutrition schedules
- Cleaning poultry houses and maintaining hygiene standards
- Assisting with vaccination and medication programs
- Monitoring production performance and minimizing losses
- Maintaining farm equipment and reporting any faults
- Following biosecurity protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience working with layer poultry systems
- Basic understanding of poultry health, feeding, and management
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to live and work on an off-grid farm for extended periods
- Physically fit and able to handle farm duties
- Honest, trustworthy, and disciplined
- Good work ethic and attention to detail
