HR Leverage Zambia is a consulting firm supporting our client in the recruitment of a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager within the paints / FMCG sector.
The Finance Manager will lead and oversee the full finance function, ensuring effective financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategic financial support to the business. The role reports to the General Manager and plays a key role in driving business performance through financial planning, analysis and control.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights
- Prepare management and executive financial reports
Strategic & Commercial Support
- Provide financiais insights to support business strategy and growth
- Develop financial models and support decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitor performance against budgets and investigate variances
- Drive cost control initiatives
ERP & Systems (Sage X3)
- Act as finance lead for Sage X3 ERP
- Ensure integration with operations, procurement, and inventory
- Drive system improvements and reporting efficiencies
Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Manage internal and external audit processes
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with statutory requirements
- Implement audit recommendations and risk mitigation strategies
Working Capital & Financial Operations
- Manage cash flow and banking relationships
- Oversee working capital and financial operations
Manufacturing & Costing
- Oversee costing systems and inventory control
- Support manufacturing efficiency and profitability
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Engage with auditors, regulators, and financial institutions
- Support cross-functional collaboration
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA)
- 5–10 years’ experience in finance, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or retail environments
- Strong experience with Sage X3 ERP
- Strong financial reporting and control experience
